2015 marks the 15th year anniversary of the launching of the Earth Charter!

It is an opportunity to celebrate the efforts over the past years and enhance collaborative efforts towards the realization of the Earth Charter vision.

In this context, ECI is organizing a number of activities and invites Earth Charter friends, affiliates, partners and volunteers to use this opportunity (Earth Charter+15) to create momentum for scaling up the outreach and impact of the Earth Charter.

Purpose of Earth Charter+15 is:

To advance the Mission, Vision and Goals of the Earth Charter Movement.  

Earth Charter+15 events and projects should focus special attention on:

• Promoting understanding and dialogue around the essence of the Earth Charter and its principles.
• Showing the relevance of the Earth Charter to the Post-2015 Development Agenda, the SDG Goals, the Climate Change new deal and the launch of the new Global Programme on Education for Sustainable Development.
• Sharing experiences and forging collaboration.

There are already several events and activities that have been planned for 2015 by Earth Charter International and by Earth Charter affiliates and activists around the world. You are also invited to do so! We want to hear about your ideas and activities and make 2015 a year full of celebrating the Earth Charter.

We will be posting more about those here as more information becomes available, but ECI is already planning five webinars starting in February, a one-day conference in Costa Rica in March, a photo contest from February to April, and several other events. The Mexican Earth Charter network is planning EC+15 events around Earth Day, and the EC network in the Netherlands will hold an EC+15 event in the Peace Palace in the Hague on 29 June, the official anniversary day of the Earth Charter.

We will also be very active on social media, posting on our facebook pages in multiple languages and using the hashtag #ECplus15 for twitter and facebook.
